Testing the Hypothesis, Part I

The who: Hospitality and Tourism Industry in Nicaragua

The what: Having a broader range of opportunities for the hospitality and tourism industry in Nicaragua, will generate more jobs and provide our generation with a more enriched understanding of culture and well being.

The why: Provide our generation with a more enriched understanding of culture and well being.

This need is definitely wanted by all the entrepreneurs in Nicaragua. Having a broader range of opportunites will help Nicaragua develop into a rich country. Money is definitely a challenge when it comes to enriching this opportunity. Nicaragua is one of the poorest countries in the world and is seeking for financial help. It is very sad that Nicaragua has a lot to offer, but it can't evolve into bigger things until they have more money.

The five people I interviewed are my co-workers from my summer job. I am currently working at a travel agency and they more or less all have the same beliefs as I have. They believe that Nicaragua could turn into the most beautiful country, but that it first had to develop new opportunities in the hospitality and tourism industry. This will generate a wider range of jobs.

http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/economy/indicators/indias-growth-to-rise-to-8-percent-in-fy2019-fitch/articleshow/52451457.cms

I believe this is an opportunity because it will definitely accelerate India's economic rate. It will ecaused by the implementation of structural reforms, higher disposable icome and the improvement of the economy in general. India's gdp was suppostly going to grow 7.5% by the end of March this year.

2. Sugar millers may lure can growers with higher pay

Even though the sugar millers with pay higher prices, they will have more opportunities to sell. It will benefit them in the long run. The downside is that the cultivation of sugar is expected to decline 25% in 2016-2017.

India's second biggest airline by passengers, reported its first profit since 2007. This was caused by lower fuel costs and higher aircraft use. Jet reported a profit of 4.26 billion rupees for its 4th quarter tl the end of march. This is an oportunity for Jet Airways because it gives them hope that their sales can continue rising.

Forming An Opportunity Belief

- I believe that many high school students don't attend good universities because their SAT scores affect their acceptance even though they have excellent grades.

- This affects the student in many ways such as: self-esteem, social life, and decision making. It is very stressful to see how students suffer with the SAT exams. They get good grades their whole lives and when it comes to taking the exam, they don't get the grade they expected causing their admissions decline at their dream university.

1. I spoke to my brother, Alejandro; he is the perfect example for this opportunity. He is graduating top 5 of his grade from high school this upcoming May. Alejandro had a hard time while applying to universities because the top universities he wanted to apply required a much higher SAT score that what he had gotten. He was very depressed because he had spent his whole life getting good grades, but he felt that they weren't worth it. I learned that we should not get our hopes high.

2. I also spoke to my brother's friend, Maria Alejandra. She got accepted to UF this upcoming fall. What it is very interesting is that my brother didn't get in even though he had better grades than she did. Maria Alejandra told me that she never thought they would accept her, but that she had very good SAT scores, helping her get into UF. I learned that you never know what can happen.

3. The last person I spoke to was my friend Sofia. I asked her opinion about SAT scores and she said that they are completly nonsense. Sofia told me that it is not fair for some people to get excellent grades their whole lives and then take that exam and completly ruin everything you had planned. I agree with her 100%.

- Summarize: In my opinion, SAT exams should be erased from the picture. This exam doesn;t bring anything positive to someone's life, sometimes even changing it drastically. I feel that in the future, universities will stop requiring SAT exams, but that is something we will need to wait to find out.

My Entrepreneurship Story

The first time I was exposed to entrepreneurship was in middle school. My cousin and I used to make key chains out of beads and started selling them at school. The money we made from the key chains were donated to a low income school here in Nicaragua. It was really rewarding to see how people bought more key chains when they knew where the funds were going.

I enrolled in ENT 3003 because I'm getting a minor in entrepreneurship and this was the first class required to complete the minor. What I hope to get out of the class is mainly understanding entrepreneurship and its concepts. I am really looking forward to learn things that will definitely help me in the future.
