MULMA

Mulma means multifunction+ makeup.

This portmanteu can be used by anyone, especially women.

For example: Yesterday, I bought a new and beautifil mulma kit at the drugstore.

To be honest, I didn't use "mulma" for two weeks, instead I used it only once.  At first, all of my friends and family members thought I was wierd because I kept repeating the word all day, erday, but then they understood I needed to complete an assignment.

Everytime I used the word, my younger cousin was the person who bothered me the most. Little did she know that two days layer he was repeating it just like me. My cousin is the only person whom I heard saying the word, besides her, no one did.

Halfway Reflection

1. Tenaciousness is a competency:

To keep up with the requirements of this course I had to make myself even more organized than I was before. Taking an online course is not always easy, especially if you are taking it in summer. One of the things that helped me the most was checking the calendar every Sunday and write all of the assignments that were due the following week. Also, dedication is very important if you want to take this course. To be honest, I never imagined that it would take that much time to complete all of the assignments that were due weekly.

2. Tenaciousness is also about attitude
Honestly, there were several moments when I felt like ´´giving up´´. As I mentioned before, this class takes a lot of dedication and organization if you want to do well. Both times that I felt that I would giv e up were completing the assignments in which I needed to interview people. Living in a third world country isn’t easy. What helped me keep going was my need in never giving up. Yes, I do feel like I developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months. This is because I was very determined to do well in this course.

3. Tips
1. Always be open minded
2. If you start an assignment, finish it.
3. Never think that it will be impossible to complete the assignment. Just do it.

Week 7 Reading Reflection

ABOUT THE ENTREPRENEUR

After reading Steve Job´s biography written by Walter Isaacson I came to find a couple of interesting things that I would have not imagined. To start off, I really liked how the author divided the book with specific chapters in Steve Job´s life.  The chapter that surprised me the most was chapter 28: ´´CEO ´´. It amazed me that he only took one dollar a year in compensation. He was like the board leader, choosing a jet over salary or 20 million stock options instead of 14 million.  I admired Steve Job´s way of dealing with his workers. Even though he was very harsh, he managed to make them understand his perspective. What I least admired about him was his obsession with work. In my opinion, everything we do in life has a limit. I understand he was the head of the company, but I bet that that definitely affected his family. Jobs certainly encountered with adversity and failure. His start was very tough when he was fired from a company he used to work with. Even though this happened to him, he managed to stand up and continue his journey to be a successful entrepreneur. This is when Pixar came into the picture.

COMPETENCIES
Steve Jobs definitely exhibited several competencies. Some of them included: passion for his work, preparation, trust with workers and clients, and hard work. I liked his quote ¨ Sell dreams, not only bandage products.

CONFUSING?

One thing that was very confusing to me is that he doesn’t give any money to charity. He said that the best way to help was by giving jobs.

QUESTIONS
1.   Why didn’t you stick with Microsoft?
2.   What made you create Pixar?

FOR FUN
What do I think was Steve Job´s opinion of hard work? That is without a doubt an easy answer. Steve was incredibly hard working. He also liked his workers to maintain the same way as he did. Being successful was his number one priority.

I do share that opinion with him. I believe that with hard work anyone can accomplish whatever they have their minds into. Being a hard worker helps overcome many turns in the road.

Idea Napkin No. 1

1. You. I am Carolina, currently a UF student going to my senior year. I am currently stuyding ¨Tourism and Hospitality Management¨. I am a very organized and like to get things done on time. One of my aspirations is to be very succesful in life and definitely enjoy whatever I´m doing. To start this business I would come up with a perfect plan so that it can be very successful. To say the least, I would give 100% to my work.

2. What are you offering to customers? What I would be offering to customers is a more reliable national airline that would allow them to fly to other parts of Nicaragua, including Corn Island.

3. Who are you offering it to? My target audience would be all those people who rely on an airline that always has a way to get them to their desired destination on time. Wht all of my customers have in common is that they don`t like relying on just one national airline, that is why  I´m creating the second one.

4. Why do they care? As I mentioned before, my national airline would allow my customers to travel to other parts in Nicaragua, including Corn Island, which is a famous destination, especially during summer. This airline would not be cheap and it will not be expensive. I want to create a price range very valuable for the clients.

5. What are your core competencies? What sets me apart from other airlines is that I provide other routes to other parts of the country not only to Corn Island. The airline will be very comfortable for traveling.

In my opinion, I have no doubt that all of this elements fits together. This is a great business that can be very successful especially in a country like Nicaragua. As I also mentioned earlier, since the airline will have a price range valuable for the clients, it will help me obtain more and more clients.

Elevator Pitch No. 1

Problem: The problem presented on this elevator speech consists of Nicaragua only having one national airline that goes to Corn Island.

What causes the problem? The problem is caused by the big demand and small supply. The airplane only flys 3 times a day.

Solution: Bring or open a new airline (El Pinolero)  to Nicaragua that will be able to take passangers to Corn Island and other cities in the country. This will create competetion and sometimes that is good for one's business.
