Halfway Reflection

1. Tenaciousness is a competency:

To keep up with the requirements of this course I had to make myself even more organized than I was before. Taking an online course is not always easy, especially if you are taking it in summer. One of the things that helped me the most was checking the calendar every Sunday and write all of the assignments that were due the following week. Also, dedication is very important if you want to take this course. To be honest, I never imagined that it would take that much time to complete all of the assignments that were due weekly.

2. Tenaciousness is also about attitude
Honestly, there were several moments when I felt like ´´giving up´´. As I mentioned before, this class takes a lot of dedication and organization if you want to do well. Both times that I felt that I would giv e up were completing the assignments in which I needed to interview people. Living in a third world country isn’t easy. What helped me keep going was my need in never giving up. Yes, I do feel like I developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months. This is because I was very determined to do well in this course.

3. Tips
1. Always be open minded
2. If you start an assignment, finish it.
3. Never think that it will be impossible to complete the assignment. Just do it.

  1. Carolina,
Let me wish you a good luck in this course and congratulations on make it so far. Don't give up, you can do it. I like your tips, short and to the point. My tips are similar to yours in a sense, not in exact words though. Being open minded is important and helps to adjust to new situations, and this class definitely throws many of us outside of our comfort zone. Learning how to cope with it should give us advantage in life.

  2. I really enjoyed reading the entirety of your post, but if I had to pick a favorite part that resonated with me most then it would probably have to be your three tips. I am a steadfast believer in finishing what you start and that is something that you highlighted in your tips that connected with me.

  3. Carolina,

I agree with you completely. This class has required a lot of organizational skills due to sheer amounts of work that is due on a week in and week out. You have to be vigilant and relentless in order to achieve maximum success in this course. I'm very proud of how you have managed to get your interviews done! Those are very involved assignments, which is especially difficult to do, given your circumstances.

  4. Carolina,
Being organized in this class is a must. It’s so easy to get behind since the majority of the assignments take a great deal of time to complete. I do not like interviewing people but I have noticed that once I have completed the assignment I look back and realize that it wasn’t that bad. It’s just a matter of doing it and getting it over with. Good luck on the second half of the semester.
